Turkey arrests 24 Afghan migrants attempting to reach Europe

ISTANBUL (Lord Media): A crackdown on illegal Afghan migrants is underway globally, with a new wave of arrests in Turkey. Turkish authorities have detained 24 Afghan nationals attempting to illegally enter Europe, including 7 women and 6 children.

Human trafficking of Afghan nationals has become a significant security challenge in Europe. According to the Turkish Migration Agency, 16,436 Afghan nationals have been detained in the first five months of this year for lacking residence permits.

Earlier, 15 Afghan nationals were arrested in Poland for illegal entry into the country. A British broadcaster has attributed Afghan illegal migration to the Taliban’s stringent policies.
