KARACHI (Lord Media): The 59th death anniversary of Madar-e-Millat Fatima Jinnah is being observed today, honoring her sacrifices as the steadfast companion of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah in the Pakistan Movement.
Fatima Jinnah was born on July 31, 1893, and was a dental surgeon by profession. She dedicated her life to the creation of Pakistan and public service.
During the Pakistan Movement, she worked alongside Quaid-e-Azam, mobilizing Muslim women in the subcontinent to play an active role in the freedom struggle. In recognition of her services, the nation bestowed upon her the title ‘Madar-e-Millat’.
After the establishment of Pakistan, Fatima Jinnah played a significant role in national development, women’s welfare, and the promotion of democratic values. She emerged as a strong voice for public rights, constitutional supremacy, and democracy.
Fatima Jinnah passed away on July 9, 1967, at the age of 73 at her residence in Karachi. Her mausoleum is located within the precincts of Quaid-e-Azam’s mausoleum, and the Pakistani nation continues to pay tribute to her services.
