Pakistan to issue hybrid sukuk bonds for first time this fiscal year

ISLAMABAD (Lord Media): The Federal Ministry of Finance has announced the issuance of hybrid sukuk bonds during the current fiscal year. According to ministry sources, the government will be able to sell commodities in addition to mortgaging assets for financing, and third-party services will be utilized for this purpose.

Sources revealed that the issuance of hybrid sukuk bonds is expected for the first time this fiscal year and the plan will be shared with the IMF. The Ministry of Finance has requested asset details from the National Highways Authority (NHA) for the issuance of sukuk bonds.

The estimated value of NHA’s assets is over 7 trillion rupees, compared to approximately 5.5 billion rupees last fiscal year. The issuance of sukuk bonds will be based on the increased asset value.
