US launches fresh strikes on Iran as Hormuz tensions escalate

TEHRAN (Lord Media): Explosions were reported in Iran’s southern coastal areas as the U.S. military confirmed new operations against Iran, aiming to mitigate threats to international shipping in the Strait of Hormuz. According to Iranian media, explosions were heard near Sirik, Bandar Abbas, Konarak, and Chabahar, with air defense systems activated in these regions.

Following the explosions in Chabahar, power outages occurred, as reported by a foreign news agency, while Iran’s state broadcaster noted that eight explosions were heard in the southern coastal city. The U.S. military stated that the strikes were intended to weaken Iranian capabilities that threaten navigation freedom in the Strait of Hormuz, targeting air defense systems, coastal radars, anti-ship missile installations, and other military objectives.

The U.S. Central Command’s statement held Iran accountable for recent unwarranted aggression against commercial vessels and their civilian crews. According to Iran’s state news agency, U.S. strikes targeted facilities at Iranshahr Airport, resulting in the death of a firefighter. Iran has condemned the U.S. actions as aggression and indicated a strong response, raising concerns of escalating tensions in the region.
