Islamabad (Lord Media): The Auditor General of Pakistan has released the 2025-26 report, highlighting audit objections worth 8.32 billion rupees in the Ministry of Interior. The report reveals over 4 billion rupees in unrecovered amounts from the ministry’s sub-departments.
According to the report, the Ministry of Interior failed to collect fees for permits and arms licenses. Fees and penalties amounting to 2.24 million rupees for bulletproof vehicle permits and 5.62 million rupees for 3,421 arms licenses were not deposited into the treasury.
Audit officials also objected to the failure to convert arms licenses from manual books to machine-readable formats. The report states that out of 25,516 arms licenses, over 16,000 are for prohibited bores, with data discrepancies found in their issuance.
Irregularities worth 2.58 billion rupees were reported in the ministry’s procurement. Additionally, internal control audit objections exceeding 410 million rupees were raised, alongside fraud and embezzlement-related irregularities amounting to 290 million rupees.
