Karachi (Lord Media): The Sindh government has decided to modernize its transport system by launching 100 new bus routes and an eco-friendly EV taxi service. This announcement was made during a meeting chaired by the Provincial Minister for Transport and Information, Sharjeel Inam Memon.
Sharjeel Memon stated that the bus routes will be introduced under a public-private partnership, involving private investors. Modern air-conditioned electric buses will operate on these routes to provide improved travel facilities for citizens.
A new route for the People’s Bus Service from Larkana to Qambar will also be initiated, facilitating easier commuting and boosting commercial activities. Memon instructed officials to expedite the administrative measures for the project.
An eco-friendly EV taxi service will also be launched in Karachi, aimed at reducing environmental pollution. Satisfaction was expressed over the ridership of the Green Line BRT, with daily passengers reaching 81,000.
Memon praised the Pink Bus and Pink Scooty projects, emphasizing that any misuse will not be tolerated. He reiterated that the Sindh government is committed to timely completion of transport projects.
