Pakistan’s LNG costs rise amid Qatar supply disruption

Islamabad (Lord Media): Qatar Energy has extended the force majeure period at the Ras Laffan LNG production complex following an attack, compelling Pakistan to import LNG from the costly spot market. Qatar has extended the force majeure by another month, now lasting until the end of August 2026.

Federal Minister for Petroleum and Natural Resources Ali Pervaiz Malik stated that the global market price of petrol is 15 U.S. dollars higher than pre-war levels. He expressed hope that if the force majeure ends in September, LNG cargo deliveries under the long-term agreement with Qatar will resume normalcy.
