High-level inquiry launched into Ziarat attack

Quetta (Lord Media): An inquiry committee has been formed under the leadership of the Chairman CMIT to investigate the Ziarat Mangi Dam incident. The Balochistan Home Department has issued a notification for the establishment of the committee, which includes the Secretary S&GAD, a senior DIG of police, and representatives from the Intelligence Bureau.

According to the Balochistan Home Department, the inquiry committee will review all events and security responses before, during, and after the terrorist attack. The committee will conduct a detailed assessment of the preparedness, command and control, coordination, and SOP implementation by security agencies.

The Assistant to the Chief Minister of Balochistan stated that if negligence, shortcomings, or operational failures are identified in the inquiry, recommendations for action against the responsible individuals will be made. The committee will propose immediate, medium, and long-term security measures for the protection of Mangi Dam and other key installations in the province.

Shahid Rand said that policy, institutional, and operational reforms will also be suggested to prevent such incidents in the future. The inquiry committee has been granted the authority to access records, summon officers, take witness statements, inspect the site, and hire expert services. The committee is expected to submit its report to the Balochistan government within fifteen days.

The Chief Minister of Balochistan stated that negligence or incompetence in protecting the lives and property of the public will not be tolerated.
