Speaking to the media before the pre-quarterfinal match against Spain, Ronaldo expressed his desire to enjoy every moment of the event and hoped that his journey is not yet over.
The 41-year-old Ronaldo stated that whenever the time comes to bid farewell to international football, he will be content, having given his all for his country and the sport. He emphasized that he plays solely for passion and feels no need to prove anything further.
Ronaldo has scored three goals in this World Cup so far. He became the first player to score in six different World Cup editions after netting twice against Uzbekistan, and he scored his first World Cup knockout goal via penalty against Croatia.
Ronaldo remarked that this World Cup has been the most memorable for him emotionally. He acknowledged criticism as part of his growth, stating that every experience has helped him become a better person and player.
