KP CM sets three-month deadline for merged districts reforms

Peshawar (Lord Media): Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Suhail Afridi has set a three-month deadline for improving public services in the merged districts, stating that a noticeable change in service delivery should be evident within this period.

During a meeting chaired by Afridi, the review focused on peace, governance, and development programs in the merged districts. The progress in education, health, and development projects was also assessed in detail.

The Chief Minister instructed the resumption of development activities in North Waziristan within a week, emphasizing the immediate provision of necessary officers and personnel to restart project work.

Afridi directed special measures to integrate out-of-school children into the educational system in the merged districts, noting that special funds have been allocated in the current fiscal year’s budget for this purpose.

Afridi highlighted that the merged districts play a frontline role in the fight against terrorism, hence they are prioritized for the provision of modern weapons and equipment.

While reviewing the health sector, the Chief Minister instructed an assessment of the shortage of doctors in the hospitals of the merged districts and the recruitment of more doctors to ensure better medical facilities for the public.
