Russian ballistic missile attack kills eight in Kyiv

Kyiv (Lord Media): Russia launched a ballistic missile attack on Ukraine’s capital, Kyiv, and its surrounding areas, resulting in at least 8 deaths and over 34 injuries. The attack damaged several residential buildings and ignited fires at multiple locations.

The assault occurred as the NATO summit in Turkiye is about to commence, escalating tensions in the region. In Kyiv, 7 people were killed, while one person died in the northwestern district of Bucha. The injured were taken to nearby hospitals, with several in critical condition.

Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko stated that the city’s air defense system was active during the attack, intercepting several missiles mid-air. He urged citizens to follow safety instructions and remain in shelters until the threat subsides.

Head of Kyiv Region Military Administration, Tymur Tkachenko, confirmed that Russia used ballistic missiles, causing damage to several residential areas, with rescue operations ongoing at various sites.

According to news agencies, this marks the second major missile attack on Kyiv and its surroundings in less than a week, indicating increased Russian pressure on the capital.

During the NATO summit, a meeting between U.S. President Donald Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky is expected, focusing on the Ukraine war, defense cooperation, and peace talks.
