Symbolizes vengeance: Red flags fly at Khamenei’s funeral in Tehran

Tehran (Lord Media): During the funeral of Iran’s former Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, red flags were prominently displayed in Tehran, capturing public attention.

In Iran, a red flag symbolizes vengeance for unjust bloodshed and remains hoisted until revenge is taken.

At the Imam Khomeini Mosque in Tehran, millions of mourners held these flags, vowing to avenge their leader’s death. The flags bore the slogan ‘Ya Latharat Al-Hussain,’ meaning ‘O avengers of Hussain.’

A new slogan, ‘Ya Latharat Al-Khamenei,’ was also seen, indicating a call for avenging Khamenei’s killing. Historically, this slogan recalls Imam Hussain, a symbol of standing against oppression.

In ancient times, this slogan was used to rally warriors for revenge. The Iranian public is now combining this slogan with Khamenei’s name to demand retribution.

At the funeral gathering, Hezbollah’s yellow flags were waved alongside Iran’s national flag, sending a message to the world not to remain silent over this loss.
