Sharif, Erdogan calls Islamabad memorandum vital for global peace

Istanbul (Lord Media): Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif have termed the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding as crucial for global peace during a joint press conference in Istanbul. President Erdogan stated that Turkey is closely monitoring Israeli aggression that threatens this agreement.

Welcoming Prime Minister Sharif to Turkey, President Erdogan discussed in detail bilateral relations, trade, investment, and defense cooperation. He emphasized that Pakistan and Turkey have strong foundational ties and plan to expand cooperation in the future.

President Erdogan highlighted the importance of the memorandum for global peace and condemned Israeli aggression in Gaza, stating Turkey’s vigilance over any attempts by Israel to undermine the peace process.

Prime Minister Sharif expressed gratitude for President Erdogan’s hospitality, noting that the relationship between the two nations is a testament to their historic friendship. He remarked that Pakistan and Turkey are like two hearts, one soul.

President Erdogan announced an agreement to increase bilateral trade to 5 billion U.S. dollars and expressed commitment to maintaining close contact regarding economic zones.

Prime Minister Sharif invited Turkish investors to explore opportunities in Pakistan’s energy, mining, agriculture, and other sectors.
