Iran to impose new fee on Hormuz passage, concession for friends

Beijing (Lord Media): Iran’s Ambassador Abdolreza Rahmani Fazli announced the implementation of a new fee for ships passing through the Strait of Hormuz, with special concessions for friendly countries. Speaking at the World Peace Forum in Beijing, he stated that Iran, in collaboration with Oman, is working on new arrangements for this crucial waterway.

Rahmani Fazli clarified that the fee collection will not act as a toll. The arrangements aim to ensure safe passage through the Strait of Hormuz, monitor ships, and address environmental pollution.

He further mentioned that Iran will offer special concessions to countries maintaining friendly relations and supporting Iran during challenging times.
