Islamabad (Lord Media): The Islamabad High Court has suspended the National Highway Authority’s (NHA) notification dated May 30, 2025, which imposed an additional 50% toll tax on motorways for vehicles without an M-Tag or with insufficient balance. Justice Arbab Muhammad Tahir issued a two-page written order, directing the NHA to cease collecting the extra toll tax until further notice.
The petition was filed by Advocate Jalal Haider, arguing that the NHA is unlawfully collecting an additional 50% toll tax based on the absence of an M-Tag or insufficient balance.
The court has issued notices to the NHA and other respondents, instructing them to submit a written response by August 3. The Islamabad High Court declared that the NHA will not collect any additional toll tax until further hearings on the petition.
