Tehran (Lord Media): A public farewell ceremony for former Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei has commenced at the Imam Khomeini Musalla in Tehran. On July 3, an international tribute event saw participation from various global leaders.
The doors opened at 6 AM local time today and will close at 8 PM on July 5. The main funeral prayer is scheduled for the morning of July 5, followed by a funeral procession in Tehran on July 6.
In addition to Khamenei, the coffins of his daughter Bushra Hosseini Khamenei, daughter-in-law Zahra Haddad Adel, son-in-law Misbah al-Huda Baqeri, and granddaughter Zahra Mohammadi are also on display for mourners.
On July 6, a senior cleric will lead prayers at the Jamkaran Mosque in Qom, Iran’s religious center.
According to Iran’s cultural attaché in Iraq, the body will arrive in Najaf on July 7, with funeral processions planned in Najaf and Karbala on July 8. Ali Khamenei’s burial will take place at the Imam Reza shrine in Mashhad on July 9.
