Court halts sealing of Naheed Khan’s farmhouse in Islamabad

Islamabad (Lord Media): A civil court has issued a stay order against the sealing of a farmhouse belonging to Naheed Khan, a former associate of ex-Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto. The farmhouse was originally leased as a nursery plot to Surayya Akhtar in 1985 and converted into an orchard in 1987.

According to sources, the plot was leased to Surayya Akhtar as non-transferable, and the Capital Development Authority (CDA) cancelled the lease 15 years ago. However, Naheed Khan did not take any action despite receiving notices from the CDA.

The CDA had sealed the farmhouse, prompting Naheed Khan to approach the court, which then issued the stay order. Naheed Khan claims that her mother purchased the plot from Surayya Akhtar in 1995, and it is their ancestral farmhouse.
