Bilawal questions cabinet members’ stance on Kashmir

Rawalakot (Lord Media): Chairman of the Pakistan Peoples Party, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, has questioned why individuals who do not recognize Rawalakot residents as Kashmiris are part of the cabinet. Bilawal stated that the Defence Minister’s remarks have exacerbated tensions in Kashmir, yet he remains unwilling to apologize.

During a National Assembly session, the Defence Minister acknowledged that his comments had worsened the situation in Kashmir. He suggested that the government should engage the Joint Action Committee to find a political solution, as Maulana is assuming responsibility for the government’s failures.

Bilawal emphasized that all political issues should be resolved through political means and urged the Prime Minister to control his cabinet members to prevent further complications. He noted that while the PDM agreement stands, the government is sidelining its allies.

The PPP chairman advised the MQM to leave the government, pointing out that Karachi’s representatives are being placated with false promises of amendments, while their demands remain unmet.

Bilawal further highlighted the absence of a local government system in Islamabad, advocating for elections within 90 days to empower and make the city’s mayor autonomous. He criticized the local government system as a mere token for Karachi’s allies and called for nationwide local elections before introducing any constitutional amendments.
