Israel to maintain troops in Lebanon, Syria

Jerusalem (Lord Media): Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz announced that Israel will not withdraw its troops from southern Lebanon and Syrian-occupied territories, even if the United States requests it. Speaking at an event, he emphasized that the Israeli military presence in southern Lebanon will remain, and no external pressure will be accepted.

The Israeli minister insisted that the presence of Zionist forces in Lebanon prevents nearly 200,000 displaced Lebanese citizens from returning to these areas. He noted that in the past, the presence of civilians in security zones posed threats to Israeli soldiers.

He further stated that troops will continue to reside in southern Lebanon’s security zones while civilians will stay outside. He described the region’s infrastructure as destroyed and affirmed that Israeli forces will not withdraw.

The Israeli Defense Minister also declared that Israel will not relinquish control over Syrian territories occupied by its forces, considering this decision part of Israel’s defense policy.

It is noteworthy that the Lebanon issue holds significance in the memorandum of understanding between Iran and the United States. Iran has stipulated in negotiations that Israeli attacks on Lebanon must cease.
