US to monitor Iran funds in Doha

Doha (Lord Media): U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Besant has announced the establishment of a special institution in Doha, Qatar, to oversee the use of Iran’s frozen funds. He stated that a significant portion of these assets will be utilized for purchasing food and medicine.

The U.S. Treasury will set up an operational cell in Doha to manage the oversight of Iran’s frozen funds. Secretary Besant mentioned that a large part of Iran’s assets will be spent on purchasing American products.

He clarified that these funds are allocated for the welfare of the Iranian people, with the U.S. Treasury directly supervising their distribution and use.

Meanwhile, Iranian officials have denied U.S. claims that Tehran has agreed to purchase agricultural or pharmaceutical products from the U.S. They assert that the use of the frozen funds will be determined by Iran itself.

This statement comes in the wake of U.S. President Donald Trump’s remarks that some of Iran’s funds would be used to buy agricultural products from American farmers.
