Islamabad (Lord Media): The National Assembly has approved the budget for the fiscal year 2026-27. The session was chaired by Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, during which members gave their approval. Following the budget’s approval, the Speaker adjourned the session until 11 AM tomorrow.
According to the Finance Bill 2026-27, an 86 percent duty has been set on imported vehicles ranging from 2,000 to 3,000 cc starting July 1, while a 92 percent duty will be imposed on vehicles over 3,001 cc.
The Finance Bill also exempts the Pakistan Navy Benevolent Association and SIUT from taxes starting July 1. Tax relief is also extended to the Provincial Employees Social Security Institutions and welfare organizations in Orangi Town, including the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
Furthermore, a delegation from the Muttahida Qaumi Movement Pakistan has indicated plans to meet with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif today.
