New Delhi (Lord Media): Indian cricket team’s star all-rounder Nitish Kumar Reddy has been ruled out of the upcoming T20 International series against Ireland and England due to an injury. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) confirmed that 23-year-old batting all-rounder Suryansh Shedge has been included in the squad in his place.
According to a BCCI statement, Nitish Kumar Reddy complained of pain in his left quadriceps after the third ODI against Afghanistan, leading the medical staff to advise him rest. Analysts suggest Reddy’s absence is a significant setback for India’s strategic plans.
Suryansh Shedge impressed during the tri-series in Sri Lanka, representing India A, which earned him a spot in the national squad.
The Indian team is scheduled to play two T20 matches against Ireland on June 26 and 28 in Belfast, followed by a five-match T20 series tour against England in July.
