Karachi (Lord Media): Sindh Wildlife authorities seized 16 rare pelicans being illegally transported during a late-night operation following a tip-off. According to a spokesperson, the operation involved searching a loading truck, from which the rare birds were recovered.
The pelicans were being moved from Dadu district to Karachi when officials intercepted the suspect vehicle and discovered the illegal transport. The suspects present at the scene were arrested during the operation.
Authorities stated that legal proceedings are underway against the suspects. Deputy Conservator Sindh Wildlife, Mumtaz Soomro, announced that charges will be filed under the Sindh Wildlife Protection Act. He emphasized that efforts to protect wildlife and combat illegal hunting and transportation will continue.
