Pakistan, China launch agricultural research lab

Islamabad (Lord Media): Pakistan has taken a significant step towards modern agriculture and the reclamation of barren lands by establishing its first agricultural research laboratory in collaboration with China. The initiative aims to make arid and desert lands cultivable through advanced technology.

China’s Tarim University and Nawaz Sharif Agricultural University in Multan will collaborate on utilizing modern technology, conducting research, and training farmers. The project will introduce solar-powered greenhouses, drone crop monitoring, and advanced drip irrigation systems.

The low-cost modern desert solar greenhouse system is expected to enhance land use and increase agricultural yield by up to 35 percent. This collaboration is considered a major advancement by Pakistan and China in promoting modern agricultural technology and integrating desert areas into agricultural production.
