Peshawar (Lord Media): A 54-year-old French woman allegedly subjected to domestic violence was rescued along with her four children in Khyber’s Bara tehsil. According to CCPO Dr. Mian Saeed, Khyber police acted on a tip-off received on June 18 and extracted the woman from her home, where she was reportedly being abused by her husband. The woman, who married a Pakistani citizen in 2014, was residing in Bara. She revealed that she was not allowed to leave the house and faced mistreatment from her husband. The police have taken the woman and her children into custody and moved them to Peshawar.
The woman has expressed her desire to return to France, and legal proceedings are underway. The Foreign Office has sent a letter to the French Embassy, and a case has been registered against the woman’s husband.
