Ex-India wicketkeeper joins UAE cricket

Dubai (Lord Media): Former Indian Test wicketkeeper KS Bharat has joined the United Arab Emirates’ domestic cricket structure. Following his retirement, Bharat has been included in the UAE domestic tournament team ‘Stallions’.

Bharat played seven Test matches for India between 2023 and 2024, filling in during Rishabh Pant’s absence. In his Test career, he scored 221 runs with an average of 20, with a top score of 44.

Upon retirement, Bharat stated that wearing India’s jersey was a remarkable experience in his life. He expressed that although the journey was challenging, each moment was valuable.

He will now play as a wicketkeeper for the Stallions in the UAE’s ‘Two-Day Championship’. The championship aims to enhance players’ long-format skills.

The championship began on June 19 and will feature a total of seven matches, concluding with the final on July 4.
