Stampede injures 89 at Pakpattan shrine

Pakpattan (Lord Media): A stampede at the annual Urs of Hazrat Baba Fariduddin Ganj Shakar in Pakpattan injured 89 people due to overcrowding and chaos at the Behishti Gate. Rescue sources reported that 25 of the injured were in critical condition and were immediately transported to nearby hospitals, while 64 received first aid on site.

The incident occurred as a large number of devotees gathered to pass through the Behishti Gate, leading to a sudden stampede due to increased crowd pressure and administrative challenges, resulting in several people falling and getting injured.

Rescue teams and authorities quickly responded to the situation, providing medical assistance to the injured. Emergency was declared in hospitals, and medical staff were put on alert.

Officials stated that the situation is under control, and security and administrative arrangements are being reviewed to prevent such incidents in the future.
