New Delhi (Lord Media): A 15-year-old Indian batsman, Vaibhav Suryavanshi, has set a new record for the fastest half-century in List A cricket history during a blazing performance against Sri Lanka A in the tri-series final.
Vaibhav completed his half-century in just 11 balls, breaking a 21-year-old record previously held by Sri Lanka’s Kaushalya Weeraratne.
The young Indian batsman scored a remarkable 94 runs off just 29 balls, including 10 fours and 8 sixes. He was close to equalling the fastest century in List A cricket but was caught out at mid-off with the team score at 132.
During his half-century, Vaibhav hit 5 fours and 5 sixes, leaving the Sri Lankan bowlers helpless. His aggressive innings had a strike rate of over 324.
Following his outstanding performance, the young batsman has once again captured the attention of cricket fans and is set to represent the Indian team later this month.
