Karachi transport strike ends after three days

Karachi (Lord Media): The Karachi Transport Union has announced the end of their three-day strike, stating that public transport will resume normal operations from tomorrow. This decision was made following a meeting between the Karachi Commissioner and the union.

During the meeting, the demand for a two-month extension for the biometric phase during vehicle transfers was accepted. Additionally, assurances were given to resolve the issue of the 12,000 U.S. dollars payment for third-party insurance.

Both parties discussed various matters and agreed to meet again in fifteen days to review further progress.

Sources indicate that the Karachi Transport Union will soon hold a consultative meeting with its representative organizations to discuss government assurances and future strategies.
