New York (Lord Media): West Indies’ seasoned all-rounder Kieron Pollard has claimed the record for the most runs in T20 cricket history. Pollard surpassed compatriot Chris Gayle’s record of 14,562 runs, achieving this historic milestone. He reached this feat by scoring an unbeaten 100 runs for MI New York against Washington Freedom in the United States’ Major League Cricket (MLC). This marks only his second century in his T20 career. Chris Gayle had held the title of the highest run-scorer in men’s T20 cricket since March 28, 2014, and remained at the top for 4,467 consecutive days. His 12-year reign has finally ended with Pollard’s achievement. Having played 736 T20 matches, Pollard is also the player with the most appearances in this format.
