Gilgit (Lord Media): In a significant development for government formation in Gilgit-Baltistan, the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) have agreed to support each other in the assembly. PML-N leader Hafeez-ur-Rehman announced at a joint press conference that his party will vote for the PPP’s candidate for the leader of the house.
He further stated that PML-N will also support PPP for the Speaker’s position, while the matters of Deputy Speaker and Governor will be settled according to the federal formula. Both parties have agreed to provide full cooperation in the assembly for the broader interest and political stability of Gilgit-Baltistan.
PPP leaders thanked PML-N for this decision, stating that it is a significant step towards political stability in the region. They mentioned that further decisions regarding government formation and other coalition matters will be made by party chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari. The press conference was attended by PPP’s Qamar Zaman Kaira, Nayyar Hussain Bukhari, and Amjad Advocate, along with PML-N’s Hafeez-ur-Rehman and other parliamentary members.
