Curacao goalkeeper sets World Cup record

City (Lord Media): Curacao’s goalkeeper Eloy Room made history in the FIFA World Cup by saving 15 goals in a single match. The match between Ecuador and Curacao ended goalless. Despite Room’s impressive performance, the world record for most saves in a match remains with the USA’s Tim Howard, who saved 16 goals against Belgium in the 2014 World Cup.

Following this Group E match, Curacao earned their first point in their debut World Cup appearance. Both teams must win their final matches to advance to the knockout stage.
