PM Shehbaz Sharif leaves to attend U.S., Iran talks in Switzerland

Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif and Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defense Staff Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir will participate in technical-level talks scheduled to be held in Bürgenstock, Switzerland, on June 21, as a follow-up to the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding, the Prime Minister’s Office said on early Sunday.

According to a statement issued by the PM Office, the talks are being held to advance discussions following the signing of the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding.

The statement said Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, accompanied by a high-level delegation, departed from Islamabad for Switzerland to attend the talks.

Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir will also take part in the discussions, which are scheduled to take place in Bürgenstock on Sunday.

No further details regarding the agenda of the talks were provided in the statement.
