Rawalpindi (Lord Media): Following a reduction in petroleum product prices, the Regional Transport Authority has announced a decrease in public and goods transport fares by 12 to 15 percent.
According to the authority, fares for diesel-powered AC public transport have been reduced by 12 percent, while non-AC transport fares have been cut by 15 percent. Fares for petrol-powered public transport have also been reduced by 15 percent.
Goods transport fares have been slashed by 18 percent, which is expected to lower costs for business activities and essential goods delivery.
The Regional Transport Authority has instructed all bus and transport terminals to immediately display banners with the new fares to inform passengers of the revised rates.
