Karachi (Lord Media): The Sindh High Court has annulled the decision to terminate the employment of a disabled Pakistan Post employee’s daughter, ordering the payment of all dues. The petition was filed after the daughter’s job, granted upon her father’s retirement, was terminated.
The petitioner, Joria’s lawyer, stated that her father served as a porter at Pakistan Post Office and upon his retirement, she was employed under the disability quota, which was terminated in 2025.
The government lawyer argued that the Prime Minister’s relief package and the policy regarding employment of children of deceased or disabled employees were no longer effective. However, the court remarked that the petitioner’s appointment had already been executed and should not be affected in light of the Supreme Court’s decision.
The court ordered that the petitioner be given a permanent appointment letter and all previous benefits and salaries be paid.
