Lahore (Lord Media): Aliema Khan has requested an anti-terrorism court to summon federal and provincial ministers, along with journalists, as court witnesses. The court has accepted the request for hearing and issued notices to the parties involved.
The special anti-terrorism court is hearing the case related to the November 26 protest, involving Aliema Khan among 11 accused. The hearing is being conducted by Judge Amjad Ali Shah, with the prosecution team led by Senior Prosecutor Zaheer Shah.
Aliema Khan’s lawyer, Muhammad Faisal Malik, has filed a request to summon Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, Information Minister Attaullah Tarar, and Provincial Minister Uzma Bukhari as court witnesses.
The request also seeks to summon senior journalist Ansar Abbasi, anchor Shahzeb Khanzada, and news editors from various newspapers and channels as witnesses.
The court has issued a notice to the prosecution to respond by tomorrow regarding the request. Aliema Khan has also been provided with a questionnaire under Section 342, consisting of 37 questions.
The court has adjourned the hearing until tomorrow.
