Los Angeles (Lord Media): During the FIFA World Cup, only the official Iranian flag will be allowed to be flown in the stadium, while other political flags are banned. FIFA has clarified that only the recognized official flags of member countries can be brought into the sports arenas.
At Los Angeles’ SoFi Stadium, the flag from Iran’s former royal era was prohibited, with security enforcing strict guidelines. Security personnel searched fans and instructed those wearing shirts with old flags to turn them inside out if no alternative clothing was available.
However, after entering the stadium, the administration failed to strictly enforce the ban, and these flags were also waved during the match.
FIFA states that it aims to keep sports arenas free from political protests or conflicts, thus only the official flag of the current Iranian government will be considered legitimate, and violators of the regulations will be stopped.
