Chakwal (Lord Media): The CCD has admitted to violating SOPs in a shooting incident involving an Australian family in Chakwal, apologizing for the error. Officials acknowledged the officer’s mistake, terming it criminal negligence.
The tragic incident occurred on the night of June 10 outside the CCD police station in Chakwal, where indiscriminate firing by an officer allowed robbers to escape while the affected family was caught in the crossfire. Nine-year-old Hania Adeel was killed, and her father and brother were injured.
Regional Officer CCD Shah Mir Khalid stated that firing without target identification was a severe breach of protocol. He apologized for the questions raised about CCD training and promised a review of the SOPs.
Shah Mir Khalid referenced the controversial 2019 CTD police encounter in Sahiwal, assuring that the investigation in this case will not be left incomplete as in the past.
