Makkah (Lord Media): A spiritually uplifting ceremony marked the replacement of the Kiswa at the Kaaba in Saudi Arabia, coinciding with the start of the new Islamic year. The Kiswa was transported from the Kiswa Factory to Masjid al-Haram. The event saw participation from 250 experts from the Kiswa Factory and staff from the Haramain administration, with the replacement process completed in approximately four hours.
Since 2022, this annual Kiswa replacement ceremony has been held on the first day of the new Islamic year. Previously, the replacement took place on the morning of 9th Dhul-Hijjah during Hajj, when the number of visitors at Masjid al-Haram was lower.
During the Kiswa replacement, visitors continued their Tawaf and prayers as usual, ensuring that their worship was not disrupted.
