Los Angeles (Lord Media): Iran’s national football team has arrived in the United States for the first time as part of the FIFA World Cup 2026. The team landed at Los Angeles International Airport and attended a press conference. Coinciding with their arrival, a peace agreement was announced to end the conflict between the US and Iran.
The Iranian team flew from Tijuana, Mexico, to Los Angeles, where they will play their opening group match against New Zealand. Iran’s head coach, Amir Ghalenoei, expressed pride in representing his country and hopes that football will serve as a bridge between different nations and cultures.
Notably, following attacks from the US and Israel, the Iranian team moved their base camp from Arizona to Mexico last month. Now, the team will travel from Mexico to the US for all their group matches.
A large crowd of fans warmly welcomed the Iranian team in Tijuana, chanting in support. With a significant Iranian community in Los Angeles, the team is expected to receive strong public backing.
