Chakwal (Lord Media): Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese has called for a transparent investigation into the death of an Australian-origin girl in Chakwal. He expressed hope that the Pakistani government will conduct a thorough inquiry into the incident.
The incident occurred near Khomeini Chowk in Chakwal, in front of the CCD police station, where 9-year-old Haniya Ahmed was killed. According to the victim’s family, a CCD officer, suspecting robbery, fired at their car, resulting in the death of Haniya Ahmed and injuring her father, Adeel Ahmed, and brother, Affan.
The CCD has suspended and arrested the officer involved, and the official weapon used in the shooting has been recovered. The case includes a charge of murder under section 302, and the court has sent the accused to jail on judicial remand.
