Sydney (Lord Media): A 35-year-old woman was severely injured in a shark attack at Sydney’s famous Coogee Beach. The woman was in the sea with two friends when the shark attacked her. A lifeguard attempted to rescue her and brought her ashore using a paddleboard.
The lifeguard reported that the shark was approximately 11 feet long and tried to drag the woman underwater. The woman sustained deep wounds on her leg and arm, with a doctor on the beach noting that bones were visible in the injuries.
After receiving initial medical aid, the woman was airlifted to a hospital. Australia records 2 to 3 fatal shark attacks annually since 2000.
