London (Lord Media): A UK court has sentenced four pro-Palestinian activists to lengthy prison terms for attacking the British factory of Israeli arms manufacturer Elbit Systems in 2024.
The incident took place at the Elbit Systems UK factory near Bristol, where activists from the group Palestine Action caused damage to Israeli weaponry.
Judge Jeremy Johnson stated that the crime was linked to terrorism and aimed to pressure the British government to cease its support for Israel.
According to the prosecution, the activists’ actions resulted in losses exceeding 1 million British pounds for the Israeli company. Those sentenced include Charlotte Head, Samuel Corner, Leona Kameo, and Fatima Zainab Rajwani.
The court sentenced Samuel Corner to seven years and eight months in prison, while Palestine Action stated their goal was to disable drones potentially used in Gaza.
Approximately 500 protesters gathered outside the court in support of the activists, with 72 arrested by police for holding banners.
