Tehran (Lord Media): Despite nearing a peace agreement, new skirmishes have erupted between Iran and the United States in the Strait of Hormuz. A senior U.S. official has revealed that both sides have agreed on an initial deal, with signatures expected in the coming days.
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi stated that changes to the agreement are possible, but the interim deal signifies Iran’s strengthened position in the conflict. He added that Iran and Oman will maintain control over traffic in the Strait of Hormuz.
The U.S. military has shot down several Iranian drones approaching the Strait of Hormuz. An American official reported that these drones posed a threat to commercial traffic, and Central Command has declared the passage open for maritime navigation.
According to Iranian sources, explosions were heard near Sirik Port and Qeshm Island, as Iranian forces fired warning shots at ships attempting unauthorized passage.
The agreement details include reopening the Strait of Hormuz, ending the U.S. naval blockade, and discussing Iran’s nuclear program later. A U.S. official stated that the deal aligns with Trump’s objectives.
Negotiations on Iran’s nuclear program will span 60 days, with the U.S. official noting that the final agreement aims to end Iran’s nuclear program. Abbas Araghchi declared that Iran does not accept the termination of its nuclear program.
