Fuel crisis worsens in India amid Middle East tensions

New Delhi (Lord Media): The fuel crisis in India has intensified due to the situation in the Middle East, leading to a restriction on the sale of more than 200 liters of diesel per vehicle. The disruption in global crude oil supply has left India’s state-owned oil companies struggling to meet the rising demand for fuel.

The Modi government has instructed petrol pump dealers to limit the sale to a maximum of 200 liters of diesel per consumer or vehicle per day, while commercial consumers are barred from purchasing fuel from regular retail pumps.

In response to the extraordinary increase in diesel demand and supply shortages, emergency measures have been implemented at the government level to control fuel availability to some extent.

Energy experts warn that if the regional situation worsens, not only India but other Asian countries may also face fuel shortages and price hikes. Officials have clarified that these restrictions are temporary and will be reviewed once the situation improves.
