Islamabad (Lord Media): Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has directed the acceleration of the loan approval process under the Apna Ghar Scheme. He expressed satisfaction over the large public participation in the scheme, which aims to enable more citizens to own homes.
During a review meeting of the Apna Ghar Scheme, the Prime Minister instructed the Ministry of Housing to collaborate with the State Bank to simplify application forms and expedite the approval process by banks.
Shehbaz Sharif stated that the scheme’s success will boost the construction sector and accelerate economic growth. He also instructed for an awareness campaign to be intensified and facilitation desks to be established.
The meeting was informed that loans amounting to 11 billion U.S. dollars have been disbursed so far, with 67,900 applications submitted, 16,587 applications approved, and loans granted to 3,146 individuals.
It was further reported that new laws have been passed by the parliament to remove legal obstacles in the housing sector, and a special digital portal has been launched.
