Islamabad (Lord Media): The federal government has decided to continue the budget session uninterrupted from June 12 until its approval. The government aims to get the budget approved by Parliament by June 23 or 24, before Ashura Muharram. To achieve this, the budget session will proceed without any breaks, including on weekends.
In a meeting chaired by National Assembly Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, parliamentary leaders agreed on the schedule to keep the session ongoing until approval.
Sources indicate that if the budget approval is not possible before Ashura Muharram, only the official holidays for Ashura will be observed, with no other breaks in the session.
It is further reported that the approval of supplementary grants will be sought after the Muharram holidays, while the government targets budget approval before Ashura.
