Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar held a late-night telephonic conversation with Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araqchi to discuss the evolving regional situation and ongoing diplomatic efforts aimed at promoting peace and stability.
According to a statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Monday, the two leaders exchanged views on the broader regional environment and recent diplomatic engagements taking place to ease tensions and encourage dialogue among concerned parties.
During the conversation, the Iranian foreign minister appreciated Pakistan’s constructive and balanced role as well as its sincere mediation efforts aimed at supporting regional peace and stability, the Foreign Office spokesperson said.
Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to promoting constructive engagement and peaceful diplomacy in the region. He underscored that dialogue and diplomacy remained the only viable path toward the peaceful resolution of disputes and the achievement of durable peace and stability in the region and beyond.
The telephonic contact comes at a time of heightened diplomatic activity in the region, with Pakistan actively engaging regional and international stakeholders to support efforts for de-escalation and peaceful settlement of issues through negotiations.
Pakistan has consistently maintained that conflicts and disputes should be resolved through diplomatic channels, mutual understanding and adherence to international law, while avoiding actions that could further escalate tensions.
The Foreign Office said Pakistan would continue to play a positive and constructive role in supporting all initiatives aimed at ensuring regional harmony, stability and long-term peace.
The conversation between the two foreign ministers reflects the close diplomatic coordination between Pakistan and Iran on key regional developments and mutual efforts to encourage dialogue-based solutions.
