Pakistan fast bowler Naseem Shah has suffered a knee injury during an HBL Pakistan Super League (PSL) Season 11 match while playing for Islamabad United against Peshawar Zalmi.
According to team officials, the right-arm pacer sustained the injury while fielding and was forced to leave the field after bowling just two overs in the match.
The team’s media manager confirmed that Naseem Shah felt discomfort in his knee during fielding, after which the medical staff immediately assessed his condition.
He was subsequently taken off the field for further evaluation, and his participation in the remainder of the match remains uncertain pending medical reports.
Officials said the medical team is currently monitoring his condition and a detailed update will be provided in due course.
Meanwhile, PSL teams have also been affected by international withdrawals, with Bangladesh fast bowler Mustafizur Rahman having his No Objection Certificate (NOC) revoked, ruling him out of the remaining matches. Fellow Bangladeshi pacer Nahid Rana has also returned home, leaving his franchise unavailable for the rest of the tournament.
The developments add to growing injury and availability concerns in the ongoing PSL season as teams approach the crucial final stage of the competition.
