Iran’s Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei said on Saturday that the country’s navy is “ready to inflict new bitter defeats” on the United States and Israel, according to Iran’s official news agency IRNA.
The remarks were issued in a message marking Iran’s Army Day, observed annually on April 18. In his statement, Khamenei praised the Iranian armed forces for what he described as their resilience and resistance against “enemies,” highlighting the military’s use of drones in operations targeting US and Israeli interests.
He said the Iranian navy remains fully prepared to respond to any external threats, reiterating Tehran’s stance on military readiness amid heightened regional tensions.
The message also commended the broader Iranian military establishment for its role in defending national interests and maintaining deterrence capabilities, particularly through advances in drone and missile technology.
